Thumbnails or images not dislaying

I've installed all required files and configured everything via the admin module. Unfortunately I can't see any picture or thumb in my album... I know that GD is installed but I still can't get it to work. I reviewed similar posts in the forum but couldn't find the solution to my problem.

Could you please have a look at it ? The address is (hosted by GoDaddy)

If you need the admin userid / password let me know how I can email it to you as I don't want to post it here...

BTW, I'm using Vista and IE7, if that plays any role.

Thanks for your help.

Hi, GoDaddy is probably not

GoDaddy is probably not the best host for phpAlbum, or any other PHP Album, as they are probably putting their ads everywhere and into the generated pictures and thumbnails too. So they can't be displayed by browser because they are corrupted.

Had the same, but found problem in my case...

At first I uploaded images (jpg) from 800kb - 1Mb
There were no thumbnails and pictures visible than.

When I started upload images(jpg) smaller than 500kb, it all seems to work fine.

I tried adjusting the maxuploadsize in my php.ini to 30M, but that did not solve the "problem". Maybe this can be fixed from within the photoalbum, I don't know. But I thinks it's worth trying to get the max image size to 1Mb from within phpAlbum.

Till then, I just resize my pics, before uploading...

You have to raise memory

You have to raise memory limit in php.ini to be able to get work bigger pictures. It does not matter how big the file size is but it does matter how big is the resolution of the picture i.e. Width x Height in pixels.

how to increase gallery to accept pics with large width and heig

how to increase gallery to accept pics with large width and height in pixels. if we want to change what should i want to change and in which file..

Should have thought of that...

Indeed, that helps a lot. Stupid I did not think of that...
My thanks for that!

Standard setting is: memory_limit = 8M
Increased to 30M, and works fine now.

Best regards Eric

just the same problem

hello patrick.
I'm just trying to setup phpalbum in my debian box.
apache 2.2.3
woop:/opt/php5/bin# ./php --version
PHP 5.2.4 (cli) (built: Oct 6 2007 21:42:15)
Copyright (c) 1997-2007 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2007 Zend Technologies
compiled with the following options.
configure_options=" '--prefix=/opt/php5' '--enable-safe-mode' '--with-mysql=/opt/mysql/v5' '--with-apxs2=/opt/httpd/bin/apxs'"

My problem is that phpalbum is not able to display any thumbnail or image, except when ask for the physical jpg file.

I check php.ini and it looks fine but I'm new dealing with php so may be it's not in the correct directory.

my directories are:
/opt/httpd/htdocs => root of the web server.
/opt/httpd/htdocs/pictures => dir for the phpalbum phpscripts
/opt/httpd/htdocs/pictures/gallery => link to the real directory with pictures.
/opt/httpd/htdocs/pictures/gallery_cache => link to the real cache directory.

the url for my website is
if you whant go directly to the phpalbum url =>
as you can see the server only listen for https request.

Please could you give me any advice?

P.S.if you need any password or user to enter in the server please let me know and I will create them for you.

You are missing the GD2

You are missing the GD2 library on your machine.

Look here how to install it on debian:

Hello Patrick, I'm having

Hello Patrick,

I'm having the same problem mentioned above. My website :

According my host GD2 library is installed. Any idea what might be causing this problem?

Having same problem.

Hi everyone!

I'm having the same problem, none of the images will appear. I have the PHP_GD2.dll installed. the memory_limit = 64M. I tried the online ftp installer but it cant copy over the "Uploading : phpAlbum/Arial_Black.ttf" file

I'm using Miniportal by as my web server (including PHP)
OS: Windows server 2003 r2

I do have access to the server directly. but I was unsuccessful then to. that is went I went to the online installer.

Can u PLEASE help me???

the website is located at: (also admin account is still set to defaults)

I am having the same problem, sort of

I used the previous version 0.3x, and everything worked fine. I recently upgraded to 0.4x, and now only one folder displays the pictures. All photos are less than 1mb in size, and 512x384x24b. I even changed the memory_limit to 100M.

Most likely the same issue.

No thumbnails or images. My friend is hosting the site for me. I don't know much, just enough to be frustrated. Default user and pass. The "other" folder has small res pictures.

Any help would be appreciated!

Solved this issue on OpenSUSE with additional libraries ...

I've added the following libraries on OpenSUSE that got this isssue to go away for me:

- Added jpeg 6b
- Added jasper 1.701.0
- Added gd-devel
- Added php5-exif
- Added php5-zlib

Another hint for troubles with thumbnails

On Linux, make sure the webserver has read access to the pictures ... (just found out the hard way), otherwise the name will show up (which makes it confusing by the way to troubleshoot), but no contents show.
