Can't add short or long description

My album has both short and long descriptions for the images. Now when I add new pictures, the description I add at the same time is not rendered under the image or saved. What can I do to fix this? Is there a file storage limit?

I looked in the data file where I found _photos_.dat, _photos_1_.dat, and _photos_2_.dat but I've never looked before so I don't know what is "normal".

I only have one photo directory.
