Unable to display any images

I have installed your package on a Netgear ReadyNAS network storage box that is running Linux, PHP 5.2, and Apache 2.0. When I exercise the album web it appears that everything is functionally working fine except that no images (yours or mine) are displaying. All I get is the box with the red X in it. When a picture box is displayed the file info shows up below it and I can launch the original (via link) in a new page but that's it. The picture frame is also surrounded by a few smaller boxes that don't display either.

I've seen other posts that mention a php-gd add on and that may be the problem. Unfortunately I am no Linux or php expert but did find a utility that displays everything but the kitchen sink about my php/apache installation. Let me know if there's something I should be looking for that would verify if it's installed.
