new pictures problem

Hi
i use phpAlbum in my home network.
when i copy new pictures to my photos directory I can not see them with phpAlbum.
i found a solution: to delete all my data directory, and then all the configuration reset to default, but all the pictures are shown.
why is that ? there is another solution to show the new pictures automatic whit out delete the date dir ?
