If I click on a picture I go to the next one. However: is it possible to get an theme/option that if I click in the middle I get a big version of the image, if I click on the left side i go back one and on the right side of the picture I go to the next picture ?

No, this is not possible out of the box. But if you can, you can just edit the imageview.tpl.php file to work like this. I know it is possible but never had the time to do it. I'm not sure if it is possible to do this without javascript or not, you will have to find it out ...
